MAZURKAS

The term “Mazurkas” is divided into three parts to symbolize the “pas mazurka” step movement characteristic of Polish folk dance. The gliding, ice skating- like quality of this movement is further emphasized through the use of an italicized font.
The poster design is based on a 3/4 grid, reflecting the time signature of the Mazurka.
POLONAISES

The poster visually symbolizes the circular movement of the Polonaise dance. The musical notation hints are integrated into some letters, connecting the visual design to the musical essence of the Polonaise.

BALLADES

To convey the heroic, complex, and lengthy nature of the Ballades, the poster presents the term in large, elongated forms that evoke a sense of magnificence and challenge, making it appear both heroic and difficult to read. This reflects the pieces’ reputation as some of the most challenging works in the standard piano repertoire.
The grid is based on a 6/8 structure, hinting the “Ballade Meter”.
