TÜYAP ISTANBUL BOOK FAIR VISUAL IDENTITY

The project focuses on designing a visual identity for the TÜYAP Istanbul Book Fair, one of Istanbul's largest book fairs. The identity highlights the fair's three main sections: General Books, Academic Books, and the Sahaf (used-bookstore) category. A symbol resembling a logo was developed as the centerpiece of the identity, applied in various forms to create a dynamic and playful character, reflecting the fair's lively and enjoyable atmosphere. This flexible use of the symbol aligns with the project's purpose as a Visual Identity rather than a comprehensive Brand Identity.

LOGO

The logo combines the image of an open book with the letter "K" from the Turkish word "kitap" (book). It's design aims to convey the playful energy of the fair. Within the identity, the logo is also adapted as arrows or appears as incomplete versions of other symbols.

SYMBOL

The symbols extend the visual language by showing different views of the book form. One is a fully opened book seen from the side, and the other is an asterisk (*), a familiar sign in book terminology. Both come from the primary mark, keeping the system consistent while adding flexibility.
